I gained 80+ pounds with 1st pregnancy in '08, and every single pound that was lost between the 3 pregnancies was gained back during and after the next one. Right now at my heaviest of 250 pounds and it truly is the "black hole" everyone talks about, I've told my husband the next person that tells me "but you look OK because you're so tall....." (I'm 5'11") - would get kicked in the head - being tall enough to stretch it out further doesn't make it OK to be OBESE. Don't know what to do or how to do it. Just that something must be done. I randomly found your blog tonight and read the 3 parter on the weight gain and loss and cried and smiled and cried and smiled. You really did give me hope. I just started selling Tupperware though and surprisingly that seems to be helping a bit cause I have to shower and "dress for success" when I go do a party;).Amy Joelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11493915510968573245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734712521038551440.post-32652229730759623012013-02-26T14:56:47.481-05:002013-02-26T14:56:47.481-05:00Reading about your successful weight loss/frump sl...Reading about your successful weight loss/frump slaughter makes my 10-15 pounds seem silly, but my nasty pillow tummy makes me feel like it's impossible to reclaim my pre-baby body. I had a plan to do these super short effective workouts at home that I always used to do, but somehow every time I get my crap together to do the workout, my baby wakes up early from his nap. Aghhhhh!!! I'm 8 weeks postpartum. Maybe it gets easier? I guess I need to treat my well being as equally important to feeding the baby....it's hard though. Especially when in a tiny window of "free" time you have to choose between paying bills, cleaning, showering, laundry, grooming, working out, running errands, catching up with family or friends, making meals...& I only have 1 baby. I am so impressed by Moms who have their shit together. I hope to be one soon, but I as I type in black stretchy pants, an ugly cardigan, hair piled in some weird clip, skin looking like a mess, my baby asleep on my shoulder (super snugly & cute, but probably with spit lurking), I assure you it isn't today. I have a wardrobe of overpriced workout clothing, an entire wardrobe, that makes me feel like crap if I attempt to put any of it on. My mega-boobs make all my awesome running tanks look like sausage casing. My low-rise yoga pants give me muffin top. My favorite running shorts? They may as well be Barbie clothes. I will remember your small steps & go from there.

Move. Eat Healthy. As I told you, I set the goal of Move More Eat Less at the beginning of the year and I didn't set an end date. I think that's the most important part. Then, a few years ago and MEGA stress later...here came 40 pounds and I have been frustrated, angry, down ever since. I have come to grips with exercise as a permanent part of my lifestyle...and too have discovered Zumba. How many days a week did you/do you attend to get the maximum loss benefit? I have not lost many pounds but the inches are moving...slow process for sure. Thank you for the inspiration that we can shed the "frump" and return to our cute selves!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734712521038551440.post-25584488684045765692011-08-24T14:00:01.037-04:002011-08-24T14:00:01.037-04:00Love it. In the beginning of my weight loss journey I couldn't run a quarter mile, and now when I'm not pregnant or immediately postpartum (as I am now), I run for ENJOYMENT. It really is about taking it slow--I sometimes just aim to take one step more than I did in my last run. One thing that helped me was the concept that you should not do anything to lose weight that you can't do forever. That rules out a lot of fads and the whole concept of dieting, really. Another thing is, that for me, extra weight was directly related to emotional baggage. Once I addressed old resentments, grief, insecurities, and all that stuff, I wa amazed at how little I had tonconcern myself with food and weight.

Again, congratulations. You're inspiring change all over the place!APnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734712521038551440.post-11440022211352269082011-08-24T13:33:18.218-04:002011-08-24T13:33:18.218-04:00"Aspirin and grapefruit juice"...laughed..."Aspirin and grapefruit juice"...laughed my butt off.Wendyhttp://nealandwendy.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734712521038551440.post-80975036524970018132011-08-24T12:57:52.524-04:002011-08-24T12:57:52.524-04:00This is great timing. I am going to try some myself.

One thing that I have found that works for me is that I try to be very, very good during the week and then on the weekends I splurge a little more. BUT I'm not going to beat myself up because I made this awesome casserole last night and can't stop snacking on it. :) :) slow and steady. I can't wait until the day that I can work out and not hate it.
